The evening of Wednesday May 2nd saw the Riccarton store abuzz with excited KOOKY customers attending the exclusive VIP evening showcasing the latest Winter styles. The champagne was flowing, nibbles were enjoyed and everyone listened eagerly as Head Stylist Dianne wowed the customers with tips, tricks and info about the new collection, how to wear it and why KOOKY designs are so flattering. Dianne and her team were kept busy for the hours that followed as the customers had a chance to try the new season styles on and grab themselves a bargain available for that night only.
If you are already on our database, keep an eye out on your email for when a VIP night is coming to a KOOKY store near you. Join our email database here to keep up to date with all things KOOKY!

The key to a perfect casual outfit is having a versatile pair of pants that can be mixed and matched with your other tunics and shirts. The KOOKY collection allows you to do just that by overdying denim to match prints and also carrying a fantastic range of versatile colours like Black, White and French Navy – this way you will never be short on options!
The ‘Yoga Crops’ (click here) are my favourite for the Summer 2012 season. These are made from a smooth jersey knit that’s cool to the touch and never creases! They have a floppy wide leg and, the best feature, a firm fold down band that pulls over your tum and bottom. |

The ‘Enchanted Dress’ (click here) is a fun and comfy number high on my list. This dress is so comfy because its cut from a light knit with a good bit of spandex and is lined in our wonderful KOOKY knitlon lining.
Knitlon is a super fine jersey that breathes well and has a smooth surface that any fabric will slide beautifully over. Therefore this dress won’t cling or stick on hips, bums or tums! |

With Summer finally here, it’s time to look at what the trends are for this season. Following are Summer 2012 fashion trends which are perfect for every occasion whether it be a Christmas with family and friends, social engagements or relaxing at the beach and enjoying the summer.
The Roseanna Suit – perfect for that special event - I’d just wear the dress on its own or maybe slip over a White cover up (perhaps the White ‘Tulle Venetian Coat’ click here) along with some white strappy shoes just to freshen it up and give a more casual look. For a more formal event this summer you could wear the chiffon coat with a Black ‘Essential Tulle Cami’ (click here) and some smart but comfy Black ‘KOOKY Bungy Crops’ (click here).
The coat has a satin collar and satin placket that runs down the front opening and is a big look for the Summer 2012 season. |

KOOKY is proud to be an ongoing sponsor of Casting for Recovery. This fantastic charity provides retreats at no cost to participants, which allow people whose lives have been profoundly affected by breast cancer to gather in a beautiful, natural setting and learn to fly fish.
On November 10th a fundraiser was held in Nelson where they raised $3,000 and 4 lucky attendees won a $100 KOOKY gift voucher. For more information on Casting for Recovery, visit their website here |

The ‘Tranquil Shirt’ (click here) is a completely different look to the ‘Makemecross Shirt’ (click here) but just as versatile. Being a slightly longer length this shirt takes on a light weight ‘coat’ look when worn open over things.
A sewn on front placket is edge stitched to enhance that vertical line. The concaved hemline is flattering through the thigh and very slimming from the side. The crushed look is big this season but not always flattering unless, of course, the crushes only run vertically down the body like in our ‘Tranquil Shirt’ (click here). |

Pictured here is the ‘Makemecross Shirt’ (click here). Where to begin with the slimming features! The front is split into 2 with an edge stitched panel seam that runs down the body and opens up to an inverted pleat. When this shirt is worn open there are 3 vertical lines running down the body optically cutting you down half to a whole size!
The ‘Makemecross Shirt’ is pictured with the funky ‘Check-It-Out tunic’ underneath (click here) and the oh so comfortable Mermaid Denim Skirt (click here). |

Shirts help create the layered look when you wear them open over cami’s and tunics. This also makes them fabulously versatile because they double as a light weight Jacket when worn in this way. The shirt takes on a completely different look when worn open, therefore you’ll get a lot more use, plus the vertical line created by the opening is extremely flattering.
My number one tip when buying a shirt is also buy something to match that you can wear underneath it. This will force you to wear it in this way and at KOOKY it’s easy because, as you all know, we create a multitude of mix-n-match separates. |
